What God Promises Us

God adopts us as his children. We are, simply
by our creation, already children of God, but at
Baptism we are intentionally & actively asking
for that relationship to be affirmed. As his
children he will guide & protect us when we
continue to live in relationship with him.

God promises us his kingdom. Not only his
kingdom after death, but also access to and
awareness of the goodness of his kingdom
here on earth, during our lives.

God promises us forgiveness. This is achieved
through Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
The promise is re-affirmed in the washing
of baptism.

God gifts us with his Holy Spirit. The Holy
Spirit strengthens and encourages in us the
growth of the fruits of the spirit which is
how we grow further into the likeness and
light of Christ.
